Abstract
The subject of this paper is ECVET, a methodological framework that aims to accumulate and transfer academic units from one qualification system to another among the member states of the United Europe and to become common among them. In this way, it looks forward to the official state recognition of these qualifications, easier and more transnational mobility for EU citizens, finding work and lifelong access to knowledge. It clarifies the European framework dictated by ECVET, the conditions for its operation, the objectives set and the tools regulating its implementation, and it is necessary to improve further. Moreover, the expected benefits and conditions necessary to make it effective. Finally, an attempt is made to determine its operating conditions in Greece.
