Abstract
The present study is concerned with the factors and motivations that affect students of the third grade of VET schools in their decision to attend apprenticeship. Apprenticeship addresses VET graduate learners and is considered a post-secondary course of studies. Specifically, this research aims at investigating students’ motives to attend apprenticeship right upon graduation. For the purposes of the study a mixed method approach was employed administering a questionnaire to 191 third and last grade VET students and conducting personal interviews with six VET teachers regarding their views about apprenticeship and its implementation. Interesting results derive from the research, which are discussed in the end of this study.
