Abstract

Water is the most precious and indispensable natural resource. However, water shortage is one of the largest problems in the world. Water scarcity and droughts affect negative the socioeconomic and environmental development of the areas which suffer from these phenomena. Consequently, water sustainable management is important to face the serious problem of water scarcity. Furthermore, it is commonly accepted that education for sustainable development can contribute to enhancing and ensuring the sustainable development of societies. Therefore, it is very important the suitable student’s education, but also the public information and awareness, through the implementation in schools of project such as Environmental Management Plans of Rainwater Harvesting Systems for non-potable use in an Educational Institute.
