Perceptions of Primary School Teachers for Intercultural Education

Abstract

This paper presents an empirical survey conducted with a questionnaire in order to detect the views of primary school teachers on intercultural education. From the analysis of the data it is ascertained that the teachers consider that it is necessary to upgrade the institutional framework of support of the intercultural education, to renew the Curricula of the general school but also of the DYEP and the T.Y. SPA, to have continuous training of teachers, enrichment of teaching practices with experiential and interdisciplinary projects that will utilize rich multicultural and multimedia material, facilitating communication with interpreters or intermediate language (eg English) etc.
