Abstract
The present study approaches the issue of investigating the training needs of the Educational Work Coordinators in the field of Adult Education, with the aim of developing a Training program for them, based on the Principles and Methodology of Adult Education. To this end, qualitative research was carried out and Individual Focused Interviews were conducted. The sample of the research consisted of 15 Educational Work Coordinators, who serve in various Regions of Greece. Based on the results of the research, it appears that the majority of Educational Work Coordinators know, adopt, and accept to a sufficient extent the Principles of Adult Education, which refer to the requirements for effective learning and the basic characteristics of adult trainees in the way they learn, as well as the Methodology of Adult Education (educational module design, introductory meeting, teaching strategies methods, role of the instructor). Finally, the majority of the Coordinators seem to wish to be trained in Adult Education with a mixed model of training, namely in-person teaching and distance learning, and by trainers mainly individuals, who are well versed in the field of Adult Education and have relevant experience in the field.
