The contribution of lifelong learning to primary education teachers

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the views of primary school teachers on lifelong learning. The research conducted was quantitative through the use of questionnaires. The survey involved 126 primary school teachers using the avalanche method. The results of the research showed that the participants consider lifelong learning as an important factor for the development of their profession. The motivations for participating in lifelong learning programs were the improvement of the professional status, the adaptation to new educational data, the enrichment of the cognitive capital, the necessity of attending lifelong learning activities and the provision of certificates. Respectively, the long duration of the programs, the limited time, the incorrect organization, the family obligations, the untimely and invalid information, the travel costs, the age, the lack of incentive for salary development were supported as factors of participation.
