Abstract
The present research examines the effects of the parameters of work stress and job satisfaction of employees in the Secondary Education of the Prefecture of Larissa. In order to measure job satisfaction and job stress, questionnaires measuring job stress (ΕRI) and job satisfaction (ESI), adapted to Secondary Education workers, were used. Despite the difficulties that arose along the way, a very satisfactory number (378) of teachers participated in the survey. Using SPSS software, a series of research hypotheses were answered using t-test and ANOVA analysis.
In particular, the research concluded that there is a moderate negative correlation between work stress and job satisfaction concluding that when teachers are happy with their work, then their stress levels decrease. From the answers of the teachers it is clear that when the working conditions are not satisfactory, the work stress increases . The results of the survey also showed that teachers with more years of service are more satisfied with their profession and consequently less stressed, possibly due to the permanence, shorter working hours and higher salaries.
