Abstract
The education of children is not only the responsibility of educators but it is also closely connected with the role of the family. At the same time, the effective education of children requires educators to recognize the needs, desires and experiences of children and their families. With this given, the cooperation and communication between parents and educators is made necessary, as is the involvement of parents in their children’s education. This paper aims to present the basic principles of an effective family-school cooperation, the models of cooperation between parents and educators, the factors that affect it, the benefits of such a cooperation, as well as the conditions necessary for a better communication and cooperation framework. Finally, the paper presents specific teaching practices for the improvement of the cooperation between family and school.
