Abstract
This paper focuses on the results of a quantitative survey to investigate the training needs in cultural education of teachers that had undertaken or participated in the past in school activities programs and serving in Secondary Education Directorate of Western Attica, a region with acute social and economic problems, particularly in recent years. The survey recorded the topics chosen by the educators, their choices about the methodology and the correlation of the training needs of educators, which is checked compared to variables, such as their experience, gender, education, marital status and their computer knowledge. From the survey results, knowledge is obtained on motivation to participate in training and on the characteristics associated with culture. In conclusion, proposals will be made, useable shortly in the optimal design of training related to culture, but in the long term as well, in the context of educational policy related to the same subject, for the benefit of the entire school community.
