The professional development of Greek teacher: empirical approach

Abstract

 

This paper presents a research that was carried out in autumn of 2013 in relation to the professional development of primary and secondary teachers. More specifically the factors that were analyzed were: lesson time preparation, seminar attendance, other degrees pursuit, use of other material in teaching and professional evolution pursuit. Finally, independent factors that influence the answers of the teachers were examined. The results showed the teachers’ tendency to try to update the quality of their lesson at a time that drastic solutions are needed to upgrade public education system.
