Abstract
In every historical period, the concept for the role of the two genders is perceived differently by both society and the state resulting in a substantially unequal treatment. Although the women struggled to gain their present position, modern school textbooks do not mention such events and the presentation of emblematic historic female figures is missing. This article presents an educational activity implemented in the second year (eleven grade) of a suburban Lyceum of Patras, during the school year 2018 -2019 in the context of creative work. Through this proposal and using the textbooks of literature and history, the participating students were given the opportunity to explore the “gender prison” and to review their personal stereotypes, removing their individual misconceptions. Finally, they realized that conscious people have the power to shape their environment and create better perspectives for society.
