Mentoring in Adult Education. Benefits for educators-mentees, educators-mentors and educational organizations

Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the perceptions of adult educators about the benefits of mentoring in adult education programs for mentors, for mentees and for educational institutions, using a quantitative research method. The sample consisted of 337 adult educators from three types of Greek adult educational institutions. The research findings indicate that mentoring can have multiple benefits, not only for educators-mentees but also for educators-mentors and educational organizations. Thus, mentoring can become a useful tool in the field of adult education.
