Abstract
The field of education in our country, following the international trends, is being adapted in order to provide high quality education and to form informed and trained citizens, able to respond to the competitive labor market. In this context, many training programs are offered, so that teachers as agents of change, are functional and effective in their new role. One of these programs is the “Advanced Training for the Educational Utilization and Application of ICT in teaching practice” (B2 Level).
The purpose of this research is to investigate the views of Secondary Education teachers of all specialties of the Regional Units of Achaia and Corinth regarding the effectiveness of the program “Advanced Training for Educational Utilization and Application of ICT in teaching practice” and if these views depend on their demographic characteristics. The research involved 101 Secondary Education teachers of various specialties and the mixed design was utilized. 97 subjects participated in the quantitative research, while in the qualitative research 4. The questionnaire was used as a tool, which was shared online as well as the semi-structured interview. For the analysis the descriptive statistics were followed using an appropriate package of statistical analysis and the content analysis, respectively. The analysis of the results showed in general the satisfaction of the participants and it was found that the B2 Level program contributed to the acquisition of knowledge and skills regarding Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), as well as to the development of new attitudes towards ICT.
