Anger management in students with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Abstract

Students with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) have problems managing emotions. In many cases they have difficulty understanding social situations, are irritable and behave aggressively. Assessment of the special educational and psychosocial needs of students with ADHD by Diagnostic Assessment and Support Agencies, school-based interventions, social skills development, family collaboration, and techniques to improve compliance can help students with ADHD to effectively manage the expression of negative emotions, such as anger, and constructively resolve social conflicts.
