Abstract
This paper attempts to explore the views and perceptions of primary school teachers in personal and professional development. Our investigation data were collected using an anonymous written questionnaire. In the research took part 100 teachers municipal schools of Grevena and Kozani in the region of Western Macedonia. Initially analyzed issues related to self-awareness and self-perception and the professional and personal development of the teacher. The results showed that teachers believe that the personal development -is a process necessary and important and depends on the personality, character and speed of thinking and learning of the individual. They believe the need to improve their professional competence and position, and this proved a determining factor for improving self-esteem. Teachers take satisfaction from their job. They have confidence and experiencing their work as a factor of stability and identity for their lives.
