Abstract
Teacher training entails a twofold aim, namely the amelioration of the teachers’ knowledge and dexterities and by extension, the improvement of schooling. This paper attempted to explore the training needs and the perceptions of the appropriate form, content and kind of in-service training of the teachers of Secondary Education in Central Macedonia. The focal variable of the current investigation was the teachers’ studies, that is undergraduate and post- graduate. The statistical analysis of the employed questionnaire revealed that the participants are interested in receiving training in topics which are different from their specialty. Moreover, the vast majority of the respondents opted for training methods which apply to adult learning.
