Abstract
This paper is a theoretical study on issues that have occupied and are still occupying many researchers and scholars over the time and are related to concerns, discussions and attempts to explain the meaning of teachers’ professional identity and the culture of the school unit. At this study, at first, we will try to explain the meaning of modern teacher’s professional identity and then we will look into the factors that contribute to its formation. Afterwards, we will try to explain the meaning of school culture and we will make an attempt to find out those futures of the teacher’s professional identity that influence the formation of the culture of the school unit. Finally, after having tried to explain the meaning of the modern teacher’s professional development, we will make suggestions about the ways that can contribute to the continuous improvement and development of his role as well as his personality.
