Abstract
The present research investigates the readiness of the primary schools of Crete to distribute the leadership. It was implemented in April 2020. The research involved 345 teachers, who in the school year 2019-2020 served in the Primary Schools of the Region of Crete. The data collection, which was mainly quantitative, was carried out through an electronic questionnaire. According to the results of the research, the readiness of the primary schools of Crete to distribute the leadership is at moderate levels. Participants were also very positive about the possible implementation of distributed leadership in their school. In their opinion, the possible benefits that arise are the distribution of leadership, the improvement of the organization, the improvement of the school culture, the strengthening of the collective responsibility, the self-improvement of the members and finally the promotion of learning.
