Abstract
This study aims to present the different types of leadership of primary school principals in Cyprus through existing leadership theories and to investigate the degree of influence of principals on teacher burnout through the school climate. The participants of the survey were 225 teachers. The data collection was done with the use of a questionnaire made by the researcher. It could be said that the principals of the public schools of Cyprus are primarily transformers. The school climate formed by the transformational leader contributes to the teachers’ development, to their participation in the decision-making process, to the development of collaborations, but also to the submission of innovative and creative ideas and proposals. In addition, the climate in schools contributes positively to encounter burnout.
