The phenomenon of school bullying: conceptual demarcation, forms, effects and pedagogical-teaching practices

Abstract

In recent years, there has been a particularly high research and academic interest in the phenomenon of school bullying, due to its effects and the alarming dimensions it is taking. Understanding the phenomenon of school bullying is crucial for the development of effective interventions and strategies that target, primarily, its causes and then act preventively. With this given, makes it necessary to inform and educate teachers about the phenomenon of school violence and bullying. This paper aims to present to present the conceptual demarcation, the various forms (direct or indirect) that it can take and the effects of the phenomenon of school violence and bullying. Finally, the paper presents specific pedagogical – didactic strategies for managing school violence and bullying are listed so that they can be used by teachers.
