Abstract
As the student population of prisons is made up of special student entities, it is considered necessary that the teaching approach goes beyond what is learned, that is why in this article a different, alternative way of teaching the Literature course is presented. As incarceration is a clear hurdle they have to jump over, participation in learning processes is a very important first step for their reintegration into social becoming, in which we as educators should be not only potentially supportive but actively helpful. The de-schooling of knowledge through the inclusion of music in the teaching process is required in the cases of those who have left the “classical” school environment but who are trying to learn while at the same time struggling to survive in such harsh and inhospitable environment as the prison.
