Abstract
This paper analyzes the departments of Economics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Macedonia, using the accreditation reports of the undergraduate curricula by the National Authority of Higher Education (ETHAAE) . The application of SWOT analysis in this paper, highlights the strengths and weaknesses as well as opportunities and threats created by the external environment of each department, focusing on aspects such as teaching quality, research, student life and graduate employment. Finally, a comparative assessment between departments is presented, highlighting the differences and challenges they face.
