Abstract
Teacher evaluation is a hot topic in education systems worldwide. Teacher evaluation appears to influence their professional development as it provides an essential feedback framework. In this light, the educational work is simultaneously improved, while the intended learning outcomes are achieved. In the context of the professional development of teachers, training is a critical parameter, while at the same time any weaknesses or deficiencies identified through the evaluation must be subject to an improvement control. Of course, the critical citation of the evaluative framework in Greece and internationally with a parallel critical evaluation of the teachers’ perceptions and attitudes regarding the results of the evaluation in relation to their professional development, creates a ground for reflection.
