Leadership in education, Challenges and perspectives

Abstract

This paper undertakes a historical review of leadership theories, from the early 20th century to the present day. It analyzes the primary trends and approaches that have dominated each period, as well as the factors that have influenced them. Specifically, it examines the evolution of leadership from an authoritarian and hierarchical approach to a more participatory and transformational one. Finally, the paper focuses on the application of leadership theories in the educational context, analyzing various leadership models and the challenges faced by educational leaders.
